It can also fight electric and gas fires though the logo has been phased out by SCDF as SCDF recommends the source of fire be shut off first before fighting these fires.

          When to use this?

          Frequently asked questions

Can this put out electric fires?

Yes. On the fire extinguisher's body, there is a warning to use with caution on electric fires. SCDF does not allow any manufacturer to use an electric symbol as they want to encourage the public to first turn off the source of electricity rather than directly fighting the fire.

Can this be placed in a vehicle?

Yes. Avoid placing the extinguisher under direct sunlight. Powder extinguisher is actually quite low pressured and will not explode. The real problem is sunlight will damage the seals over time leading to leaks. It is recommended to place the fire extinguisher in a cabinet for vehicles

          How do I maintain this?

The annual maintenance is a SCDF requirement for commercial users. Fire extinguishers have to be maintained at a SCDF approved workshop. You can bring this fire extinguisher to our partner at 9 Fan Yoong Road. Prior appointment is required. Make an appointment at 87744355

Can I test to see if it is working?

All fire extinguishers should not be tested. This will void its warranty. Even the smallest discharge can cause a complete leakage over time. This is intended for safety reasons and it is also why fire extinguishers must be recharged upon any partial or complete usage.
