Hercules 12KG Class D Powder Fire Extinguisher

    Description

The Hercules 12KG Class Powder Fire Extinguisher is meant for the toughest metal fires. Capable of fighting lithium, sodium, magnesium, calcium, zinc and aluminium fires when in the form of powder or swarf.

The fire fighter can safely put out these fires with the 1.2m applicator. Upon discharge, class D powder will fall from the nozzle. When the powder comes into contact with the class D metal fire, it will form a crust and starve the fire of its fuel.

Due to the unpredictable nature of Class D metal fires, they are classified as a special hazard and do not fall under the standard fire fighting tests. The fire fighting ability against Magnesium, sodium, lithium, calcium, zinc and aluminum metal fires is independently by German laboratory MPA Dresden.
