Performance

Class A

Good against Class A fires with fuel sources such as paper, rubber and plastics. Can easily put out a fire the size of a waste basket and with some good fire fighting, a fire the size of an adult chair.

Class B

While powder has a stronger knock down effect against Class B fires. Foam fire extinguishers are actually easier to use for beginners. This is because powder does not prevent reignition whereas fire fighting foam creates an oxygen barrier to starve fires.

Electric

Does not conduct electricity. SCDF recommends electricity to be turned off before attempting any fire fighting as the fire may reignite.

Lithium Battery

Performs well against lithium battery fires up to 250 Wh which includes power banks , laptops and small rechargeable devices. The mist rapidly cools and greatly reduces the possibility of reignition.
